NOTE: Special tools are required to remove the steam seat - without these tools, you will damage the machine.

There is no need to remove the steam seat when replacing these two seals. Just remove the old seals (either by sliding them off or cutting them off) and slide on the new seals.

You will need QTY 2 Steam seat O-rings.

To access the steam pin O-ring or the Steam seat O-ring.
  • Insert a Phillips head screwdriver into the end of the Steam Knob and unscrew the screw completely.
  • Slide off the  Steam Knob.
  • You can unscrew the Steam Valve Collawithout removing the Steam Collar Insulator first. Attempt to unscrew them both together by hand. If that doesn't work, then follow steps 4 and 5.
  • Remove the Steam Collar Insulator. This can be done by hand.
  • Unscrew the Steam Valve Collar using your hand by turning it counterclockwise. If your machine is old and hasn't been cleaned recently, you may need to use pliers to clean it. Do not use pliers directly on the  Steam Valve Collar, as it will scratch the surface.
  • At this stage, you can see the two O-rings on the Steam seat. You can remove these by cutting them off and then slipping the new ones over the top. Please check the old ones before removing them. If they are smooth and not worn, they may not need to be changed.

  • Unscrew the Steam Pin using your hand by turning it counterclockwise.  If your machine is old and has not been cleaned recently, you may need a small spanner.
  • Replace the Steam Pin O-ring. Just slide it over the shaft of the Steam Pin.
  • To reassemble, repeat the process in reverse.
